The Department of Economics at
the University of British Columbia invites applications for tenure-stream
positions. Starting date: July 1, 2011. Positions are expected to be filled at
the rank of Assistant Professor, although outstanding candidates may be
appointed at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Priority fields include Econometrics
(theoretical or applied), Behavioral Economics (including Experimental) and
Health Economics, but exceptional candidates in any field of Economics will be
considered. Qualifications: for
appointment at the Assistant Professor level, the candidate must have a PhD (or
solid indication of imminent completion) in a relevant field, and demonstrate
excellence or clear promise of excellence in teaching and in research. For
appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level, the candidate must have a
Ph.D. and a proven record of outstanding research and excellence in teaching.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of
research, teaching and service. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applications must include a c.v., at least three confidential reference letters, evidence
of teaching effectiveness, and samples of research papers. Application instructions and additional
